Elephant Update: September

The Klickitat County Republicans' statement on Afghanistan:

"In reference to the debacle of the withdrawal of our American troops and personnel from Afghanistan, leading to the loss of 13 American military personnel and almost 200 civilians, the Klickitat County Republicans (KCR) unequivocally support the Resolution recently passed by the WA State Republican Party (WSRP). The KCR, in no uncertain terms, stands by the facts as stated in the WSRP Resolution that President Biden ignored the advice of Senior Military Leaders, Leaders in the International Community, and a Congressional Panel leading to one of the worst international crises in decades, the abandonment of hundreds of American citizens whose lives are now in imminent danger, and the transfer of billions of dollars of military equipment to a terrorist organization. The KCR demands an investigation into these events and the immediate resignation of responsible parties, to include the Commander in Chief. We empathize with our US military service members and veterans who are processing the news and images in the media, and we encourage support of organizations that continue to try to evacuate Americans and find new homes for refugees."

Next KCR meeting is Tuesday, September 14th at 6 pm at the Dallesport Community Center. County Commissioner David Sauter will be our Guest Speaker.

liberty | ˈlibərdē | noun (plural liberties) 1 the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views • the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved • (usually liberties) a right or privilege, especially a statutor yone: the Bill of Rights was intended to secure basic civil liberties. •

The KCR is proud to support LIBERTY. We promote citizens' right to choose. We have had many citizens in our county, regardless of political affiliation, organizing and showing up at rallies. What a privilege to live in a free nation!

From our State Committeewoman, Susan Kelsey:Here we are, 9/8/2021, protesting against the tyrannical mandates of Inslee against our community. Employees who are mandated to be vaccinated or be terminated. Our community is witnessing the loss of livelihoods over covid injections. I am not against vaccinations, I am against the mandate of no choice. My family has fought in almost every war from the American Revolution to Vietnam. I make my stand as my warrior ancestors have, they with guns and their lives. Me, with my voice and I say NO to tyranny. I will protest against the injection mandate during the week, 12-1, and Wednesdays 5-7pm until 10/18. I will continue to write to the legislators and Governor. I will not be silent. Will you join me?

Platform.

Once a month, we like to publish an excerpt from the Klickitat County Republicans Platform, our values and guiding principles. This month we are featuring:

AGRICULTURE

Agriculture is a major contributor to the Klickitat County economy and regulations that inhibit or restrict agricultural enterprises should be minimized. We support:

1) Regulation of pesticides, fertilizers and field burning shall be based on scientific evidence.

2) Open and fair access to export markets for our agricultural products.

3) Environmental restrictions shall be weighted against the economic impact on farming, forestry, property rights, and other commercial activities.

4) Establishment of an effective guest worker program.

5) Acknowledging the net carbon sequestration of agriculture.
