From Representative Gina Mosbrucker:
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
If you live between Bickleton and Goldendale in Klickitat County, I strongly encourage you to join us tomorrow (Tuesday) evening, July 25, at 6 p.m. at Goldendale Middle School for a community meeting to discuss the Newell Road Wildfire. The press release I sent out this morning (see below) has the current details of the meeting. Please share this with your neighbors! I hope to see you there.
Rep. Gina Mosbrucker is announcing a community town hall meeting Tuesday, July 25, at 6 p.m. at the Goldendale Middle School, 520 E. Collins Street in Goldendale, to update local Klickitat County residents on the Newell Road Fire. Mosbrucker will be joined by officials from Klickitat County Search and Rescue, Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Klickitat County Sheriff's Office, the Incident Command Management Team, the American Red Cross, and other fire officials.
The fire started around 3:35 p.m. on Friday on Newell Road near Bickleton and has now grown to more than 50,000 acres, covering at least 20 miles of land. State DNR crews and aerial mobilization efforts are on site, along with local fire resources, to fight the wildfire. Areas within the fire zone are under various evacuation levels.
“It's important we bring the community together to help everyone understand what is being done to protect lives and property and prevent further damage as this wildfire grows. We want to be available to answer questions and help inform residents of what they can expect and what they should be doing to protect themselves and their families,” said Mosbrucker, R-Goldendale.
