Next Meeting: September 12th, 6-8 pm at the Dallesport Community Center
Guest speakers: Klickitat County Auditor's Office
What a great time we had at the Klickitat County Fair and Rodeo! We were so busy, we needed 2 booths manned with volunteers from across the county.
If you need to register to vote, if you have questions about policies in our County and State, or you just like to connect with our community, the KCR booth is the place to visit.
(Thank you to Erin Hartford, our State Committeewoman, for being available to step in as "Vanna White" for the photos.)
See you at the Huck Fest in White Salmon, September 8, 9, and 10th. We are proud to be GOLD sponsors for this great annual event.
Do you want a State Tax? How do you like the gas tax? Concerned that you cannot opt out of the state-run Long Term Care Act? Stop by the booth at Huck Fest to see the Initiatives.
The initiative process is the direct power of the voters to enact new or change existing laws. It allows the voters to place proposed legislation on the ballot.
Our Democrat controlled State Legislature has a sneaky way of passing legislation that has not been vetted through the voters. One of the ways we can push back against poor legislation is the Initiative option. If the state can gather 400,000 signatures by December, the voters will see these initiatives on the ballot in November of 2024, and the voters will be able to voice whether the legislation should stay or should go.
