Elephant Update

Representative Jim Walsh was elected as the new Chairman of the WA State Republican Party on Saturday, August 12th during the WSRP meeting in Olympia. Chairman Caleb Heimlich stepped down as he pursues other great opportunities. There was one other candidate for Chairman, but Jim took a solid majority on the first round of voting and secured the gavel for the remainder of the meeting. I am confident that Jim's experience, positive outlook, and strategic thinking will turn us toward more victories in the state.

Look who we saw on Saturday night in Yakima: our wonderful State Representative Gina Mosbrucker!

The Yakima Lincoln Day Dinner was attended by almost 1000 people who came out to hear Charlie Kirk speak, the founder of Turning Point USA. The most exciting part was that the room was full of attendees and volunteers aged 26 and younger; the younger generations are hungry for truth and leadership. Charlie gave them positive and definitive life advice. (photo L to R: Rep. And who knew Dolly Parton was in WA State this week? My daughter and I were honored to be present for her Fireside chat and performance in Tacoma on Tuesday, August 15th, as WA State officially celebrated the kick-off of her reading program.

I grew up 20 minutes from Dolly's hometown so this was especially thrilling for me. For decades, I saw Dolly's desire to improve her community because it was near and dear to her heart. She gives generously out of love, not for fame.

The reading program took roots in TN in 1996. So glad it has now reached Klickitat County! The program is for newborns through age 5. All you have to do is register, and your child will receive a book once a month for FREE in the mail. What a great way to encourage literacy AND family time (no screens allowed!).
