Elephant Update

Reminder: KCR Meeting this Tuesday, March 14th 6-8 pm

Dallesport Community Center

Guest Speakers: US House of Representatives Dan Newhouse and CD03 Candidate Joe Kent.

Rep. Newhouse will give us the DC Update, and Joe will bring us the latest on Ballot Return Strategies.

The "2A Rally: Armed with Facts" left me speechless. All the seats were full, and attendees lined the wall. Every single one of our Guest Speakers--William Kirk, Hannah Joy, Sheriff Bob Songer, Eric Young, and Luke Throop--brought a unique and cohesive message, useful information and updates, and valuable insight on what it means to be a gun owner yesterday, today, and tomorrow in WA State. Every attendee, including the youth, walked out much better Armed with Facts than when they walked in.

Lawyer William Kirk assured us that the paperwork for lawsuits is ready to be filed should SHB1240 pass. It has passed in the House, it is now working its way through the Senate. SHB1240: "An act relating to establishing firearms-related safety measures to increase public safety by prohibiting the manufacture, importation, distribution, selling, and offering for sale of assault weapons, and by providing limited exemptions applicable to licensed firearm manufacturers and dealers for purposes of sale to armed forces branches and law enforcement agencies and for purposes of sale or transfer outside the state, and to inheritors." CONGRATULATIONS! PLEASE TAKE A VICTORY LAP! HB1333 DID NOT MAKE IT TO THE HOUSE FLOOR BY THE VOTING DEADLINE.

It took thousands of people calling, writing in, and testifying in opposition to make this happen. THANK YOU for your assistance. The opposition was overwhelming, AND yet the Bill came VERY close to a vote. While we may have defeated 1333 (Bill for Commission on Domestic Violent Extremism) this round, unless we VOTE OUT the current Governor and Attorney General, expect to see this Bill again in the future.

REMINDER: Are you tired of the chaos? RUN for your School Board or City Council. YOU are the change you want to see in the world. Fighting against ignorance and negligence takes much more energy than just doing it right the first time.

ALERT: DEADLINE TO SUBMIT NAMES FOR THE GOLDENDALE SCHOOL BOARD DISTRICT 1 IS THIS FRIDAY, MARCH 17TH. CONTACT PETER LEON AT peter.f.leon@gmail.com FOR MORE INFORMATION.
